Club Promoter Danny Abeckaser Stars in a Film Based on His Life
If you ever attended former club promoter Danny A. Abeckaser’s model-packed annual birthday party, as Leonardo DiCaprio often did, you may know him best as Danny A. Now Abeckaser is taking on the role of screenwriter and actor to portray his early years in the film Club Life, which debuted on Tuesday. Jerry Ferrara plays Johnny D, who is not-so-loosely based on Danny A. “I think it’s a really accurate portrayal of the nightlife that we know, the models and bottles,” said Abeckaser, who plays a club tough onscreen. Danny A’s A-list threw an after-party at Avenue with Artichoke Pizza following the screening.

“I was very nervous about opening,” said Parsons. “I didn’t know that Javerbaum ran the Twitter account before I started working on the play, but I think that benefited me.”
