How did Blake Lively dress up her baby bump at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards, and did Shailene Woodley forget to wear a shirt at the White Bird in a Blizzard screening? Jeffrey Slonim has the scoop on that and more in this week’s celebrity news….
Mark Indelicato, Shailene Woodley, Gregg Araki, and Shiloh Fernandez at the White Bird in a Blizzard screening.
On Wednesday, Fiji Water and SVEDKA Vodka hosted a special screening of White Bird in a Blizzard, written and directed by Gregg Araki. Onscreen, Eva Green plays Shailene Woodley’s wacko, disappearing-act mom, while Shiloh Fernandez is Woodley’s hunky love interest. What was Fernandez’s take on Woodley? “Everyone thinks she’s a great person, but really….” He was kidding. “She’s a deep human being,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty) and Gabourey Sidibe stole the show in the film as Mickey and Beth, respectively. ”There is so much s--- going on in this movie, we’re the comic relief,” said Indelicato. Woodley wore what appeared to be a vest by Temperly, with no shirt. “I think I’m wearing a shirt,” the young actress insisted.
Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel hosted a glam dinner for No. 5 The Film on Monday. The film is directed by Baz Luhrmann and stars Gisele Bundchen as the face of Chanel No. 5. Gisele sported a silver sequin top, while Lily Aldridge donned a creamy lace dress, and Toni Garrn wore a beige tweed skirt. All were Chanel, natch.
Blake Lively, Halle Berry, and Anna Wintour attend God's Love We Deliver's Golden Heart Awards.
Halle Berry looked sensational with a cutout-side dress at God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards on Thursday, but it was Blake Lively who truly stole the show in a maternity gown made of pastel sequins by Michael Kors.
“She’s sweet, she’s fun. She’s a mean cook. She’s going to be a great mom,” said Lively’s pal, Michael Kors. Speaking of eating for more than one, Kors announced that in honor of World Food Day (October 16), he will donate 100 meals for each person wearing his Watch Hunger Stop t-shirt on social media with the hashtag #watchhungerstop. Berry wore the tee while starring in a video about her visit to Nicaragua. “I felt I could make a difference,” she said.
Lucy Lawless, aka Xena: Warrior Princess, juiced and brunched at The Marshal in Hell’s Kitchen on Sunday.
Blame it on Comic Con, but fans caused a stir over The Walking Dead stars, including Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, at The Fourth on Saturday. The mob caused The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan—yes, the band with the ‘90s hit, “Zombie”—to pull up in a cab to avoid them, and her driver got steamed.
Jessica Chastain, Dakota Fanning, Eddie Redmayne, and Kate Mara attend the Alexander Wang and H&M collection launch.
Courtney Love coined the use of Alexander Wang’s last name as a synonym for cool. And the "Wangness" at the debut of his H&M collection on Thursday was way up there. The show took place at The Armory, an indoor track stadium on 169th. Acrobats jumped on trampolines and over substantial walls before models walked the track.
“I love Alexander,” mentioned Jessica Chastain. “And H&M is such an easy place to shop,” added Kate Mara. Missy Elliott performed, and Dakota Fanning and Justin Theroux were also in the house.
On Tuesday, Psychology Today hosted a special screening of Jason Reitman’s film, Men, Women & Children. The film explores the loneliness of our online society—one character attempts suicide. An audience member asked Reitman (Up In The Air) what inspired him to write the scene. Reitman snapped back, “Oh, now people will think I’m lonely and depressed and I am going to go kill myself.” He just wanted to start a conversation.
