NYFW week has officially wrapped up, and we're reflecting on the highlights before they become yesterday’s news! Scroll through to see what all the show-goers, designers, models and party people were up to this week.
First up, the Cinq à Sept SS 2018 presentation conveyed a whimsical fantasy but also doubled as a performance inspired by 20th century Italy. The dreamlike and dramatic collection was shown atop lower Manhattan's eclectic luxury hotel, The Beekman, as circus performers entertained guests and hors d’oeuvres were served.
For those of you who’d rather be drinking bubbly, this was your kind of party. The ready-to-wear label, designed by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, celebrated their limited-edition bottle of Nectar Imperial Rosé in collaboration with Moët & Chandon. The night was full of festivities: think rosé fountains and a surprise performance by Travis Scott!
Barbadian goddess Rihanna ruled the week with major moments: the launch of her first makeup line (Fenty Beauty!) and the Fenty x Puma show. Rihanna has made her presence in the beauty realm known; the expansive makeup line offers 40 shades of foundation catering to a range of skin tones. And as if that wasn’t enough of a statement, she closed her futuristic Fenty x Puma show riding in on a motorcycle like a Bad Gal would!
Everyone knows Gigi and Bella Hadid are the industry’s go-to models! All eyes were on the duo at Anna Sui’s Seventies love fest; their chemistry lit up the runway and also saved the show. After Gigi’s wardrobe malfunction left her without a shoe, Bella rushed to support her as she tiptoed down the runway, a true act of sisterhood!
Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s show and collection was all about good vibes and energy! Models flaunted a collection inspired by the Fifties, wearing neon pink and green, gingham, and puffed sleeve dresses, down East River Park track turned runway. Oh, and did we mention Solange Knowles was performing in the background? Talk about a vibrant show!
Not many 16-year-olds can say they made their NYFW runway debut at Calvin Klein! The daughter of Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber, is wasting no time following in her mother’s footsteps to becoming a supermodel. She kicked off the fashion month strong in both her on and off-duty looks, and has planned appearances on the runway in London, Milan, and Paris this season.
