NBC’s Emmy Award-winning local media programming, LX.TV, presents the best of city living on air and on the Web. Its diverse roster of hosts cover everything you want to know about, including sports, celebrities, fashion, nightlife, dining and home design. Here, it’s our turn to report on the reporters….
LX New York, 1st Look
Favorite Episode: Too many to choose from—1st Look, “Weekend Getaway: Bucks County”
Before LX, I was: A sports reporter covering the Giants and Yankees at SNY-SportsNet NY
Favorite NYC Spot: Eleven Madison Park is elegant with a great location, exceptional food, a cool bar.
LX New York
Favorite Episode: I’ve enjoyed live celebrity moments, like with Seal, Judith Light, Joan Rivers, Sean Hayes, Wynonna Judd, the crazy Housewives.... I love it when I can get someone to sing to me. When there are New York City events that we see as they are happening, nothing beats experiencing that with our audience as it develops before our eyes.
Before LX, I: Anchored newscasts and my own show, Jane’s New York for NBC4 (WNBC).
LX New York
Favorite Episode: Covering the many snowstorms this past winter. The one that sticks out in my mind was out on Huntington, Long Island. It was treacherous but at the same time a great day in the field.
Before LX, I Was: All news! I reported for News 12 NJ and News 12 Westchester. My first job out of college was here at the WNBC assignment desk. I’m so lucky to be back working in my hometown.
Pedro Andrade, Sara Gore, George Oliphant and Ben Aaron
Favorite Episode: “Poolside in NYC”—there’s something really special about a nice pool in the middle of this concrete jungle.
Before LX, I Was: Happy to be living in New York after finishing journalism school in Brazil and traveling the world for a few years as a model. I also bartended for a while to pay for an overpriced studio in the West Village.
Favorite NYC Spots: Indochine and Boom Boom Room
LX New York, OpenHouse, 1st Look
Favorite Episode: I loved the Puerto Rico 1st Look shoot. We were there for a week, and I went surfing for the first time (unfortunately, it had to be on camera). I don’t ever have time to travel, so if I get to do it for work, I’ll take it.
Before LX, I Was: A line cook at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s V Steakhouse before leaving to perform in an Off-Broadway play
George to the Rescue, OpenHouse, 1st Look, LX New York
Favorite Episode: George to the Rescue, when we rescued a girl who had suffered a terrible accident at her bachelorette party in Raleigh, North Carolina
Favorite NYC Spot: Malatesta Trattoria when taking my wife out for dinner; playing softball in Central Park with the LX Avengers
Before LX, I Was: A VJ for MTV
LX New York
Favorite Episode: Every episode is so different—I would say somewhere between a double-Dutch league and a nude therapist.
On-Screen Wardrobe: Hugo Boss Red Label fits tall and lanky very well.
