The Chicago-based urban home emporium Jayson Home dispatches its first brick-andmortar pop-up shop to NYC’s Soho.
An antique French boat makes an unlikely, but gorgeous, planter.
2017, it turns out, was a smashing year for the interiors retailer Jayson Home. For nearly two decades, it has curated everything from objets and accents to sofas, chairs, lighting, tables, ottomans and rugs. Now the Chicago flagship, a 20,000-squarefoot converted warehouse, is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary on North Clybourn Avenue, and the company has opened its first-ever pop-up in New York City, on Greene Street in Soho.

The New York debut comes with much anticipation. Home acionados, as well as a devoted East Coast customer base of interior designers, stylists and design enthusiasts, adore Jayson Home’s endless mix of items sourced from around the world. “Our NYC pop-up is so much more than a traditional retail space. In designing this store, our goal was to create an experience that allows both our existing fans and new customers to engage with the brand in a truly unique way,” says Caroline Scheeler, co-founder and creative director of Jayson Home. “Of course, we want people to shop, but we also want them to be inspired by what they see, and experience the world of Jayson Home from the moment they walk in the door.”
It’s easy to be inspired here. The 5,500-square-foot, twostory pop-up oers a full-scale design experience, with a oral shop, an in-store workroom lled with custom fabrics and one-of-a-kind vintage items imported from all over the globe, and all of the categories for which the retailer is best known, including furniture, plus a wide selection of tabletop pieces, pillows, art, great books, lighting, gifts, vintage and new rugs and other home furnishings from stylish, far-ung locales such as Morocco, Paris and Spain. 138 Greene St., 646.892.3188, jaysonhome.com
