A HELP INDEED
Founded in 2006 by Jillian Wolstein and her family, H.E.L.P. Malawi is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing “hope, education, love, and protection” to the more than one million disadvantaged children in Malawi. The organization partnered with Wilderness Safaris to build its first school, the Nanthomba Primary School, in the Machinga district near Liwonde National Park, and its ongoing fundraising efforts provide books, meals, furniture, and clothing. Also in progress is an 11-bed maternity wing and a medical clinic that will serve more than 60,000 people in the rural district of Balaka. Visit helpmalawichildren.org.—STACY BARRON

A new baby might bring a bombardment of spitup and sleeplessness, but motherhood doesn’t have to signal the end of a fabulous life. That’s the philosophy of Lyss Stern, founder of Divalysscious Moms—a group of strong, sexy mothers that has more than 55,000 members. For “divalysscious” tips, check out the new book If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself (Clarkson Potter), which Stern coauthored.
