Chefs at the 2011 STREETS International benefit
For its fifth annual benefit, STREETS International, a charity working to help disadvantaged youth in Hoi An, Vietnam, will host a foodie event with New York's top chefs on March 29. Chefs from restaurants such as Marimoto, Macao Trading Company, Red Rooster, The Meatball Shop, Kuma Inn, and more will dish out samples of their best street food in the hopes of winning people’s or judge’s choice awards. In addition to food and cocktails, a new documentary short by award-winning filmmaker Jun Oshima about the lives of STREETS trainees will be screened. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $75 for students. (6 – 9:30 PM) The Astor Center, 399 Lafayette St.
