A spotlight on W.E. in "Persol Magnificent Obsessions"
Opening June 14 at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, "Persol Magnificent Obsessions" celebrates the painstaking workmanship that goes into making a film, from the casting to the costuming.
The world of film and fashion will be combined in ten spotlights featuring artifacts from groundbreaking films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s North by North West (1959), Pollock (2000), The Last Emperor (1987), and W.E.(2011). Exploring the many steps it takes to complete a film, the exhibit will show how essential the tiniest details are in creating an iconic image.
