Macy's Fireworks
Wednesday, July 4, 9 PM
The most classic way to celebrate the Fourth of July in New York is to find a place to see the Macy's Fireworks Spectacular. This year, more than 30,000 fireworks will be fired from six barges on the Hudson River. Eleventh and Twelfth Avenues are open to the public, but if you'd rather not deal with the crowds, the Intrepid hosts a viewing party aboard the boat—the $100 admission is definitely worth it. Intrepid, Pier 86 at Twelfth Ave., 877-957-7447;

The Liberty Belle Spectacular
Wednesday, July 4, 5 PM to 2 AM
This vintage-themed party features the Star-Spangled Orchestra, burlesque performances from Jezebel Express and Gal Friday, the tap-dancing Minky Sisters, and more. There will be vintage cocktails all evening and the party is on the roof, with great views of the Hudson. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Empire Hotel, 44 W. 63rd St., 212-265-7400;

Rooftop Beach Party
Wednesday, July 4, 12 PM
If you are looking to take full advantage of your day off work, head to Pier 92 for an all-day, all-night Rooftop Beach Party with incredible views of the fireworks and performances by Lil Jon and Wyclef Jean. There will be a plethora of food trucks, including barbeque from Virgil's Real BBQ. 711 12th Ave.;
