The Good Old Brooklyn Bridge

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of its New York boutique, Officine Panerai unveils the PAM 318 Brooklyn Bridge special-edition timepiece ($4,400). The 44mm Luminor Marina watch is crafted in steel and houses a manual-wind movement with 56 hours of power reserve. But the real sell of the watch—of which only 150 will be made—is the elegantly engraved image of the Brooklyn Bridge on its caseback. Panerai’s seafaring history shows in its marine-inspired store and its tradition of equipping divers and underwater professionals. In 1913 the Royal Italian Navy asked the brand to build precision wartime instruments, garnering it international acclaim. Since then Panerai has continued to produce technically innovative watches in its Radiomir and Luminor case families. 545 Madison Ave., 212-223-1562; panerai.com

Earth First

Showing a commitment to the environment and wildlife preservation, TAG Heuer has created the limited-edition TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M watch ($2,600), inspired by brand ambassador Leonardo DiCaprio.
Proceeds from the sale of the watch will benefit the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), which works to protect the planet’s wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. (The council’s members have successfully pushed for legislative action on environmental issues such as global warming and the decimation of the world’s oceans.)

DiCaprio—a member of the NRDC board—inspired the watch’s design, which features an electric-blue dial and the NRDC logo. Water-resistant to 500 meters, the watch features a unidirectional turning bezel that ensures precise elapsed dive-time measurement and an automatic helium escape valve. Only 1,400 pieces will be built, each with DICAPRIO LIMITED EDITION engraved on the caseback. Tourneau, 12 E. 57th St., 212-758-7300; tagheuer.com
