With the economy looking up, an overheated Fashion Week has become an enormous endurance contest. And a snowstorm in the midst of it added a slippery degree of difficulty this season. Still, the shows went on. And from his well-seated perch, Dispatch scribe Jeffrey Slonim spotted a flurry of celebrities and showstoppers.

I started my season enthusiastically with a pop by backstage at The Heart Truth Campaign’s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show, where newswoman Soledad O’Brien had apparently just had her toenails painted. “Don’t mess up my toes!” she kindly warned as I came close to doing just that. They appeared shiny and wet.
