FROM SILVER-SCREEN up-and-comer Teresa Palmer and Broadway rising star Rebecca Naomi Jones to event planner extraordinaire Francesca Zampi Hammerstein and local fashion and social fixture Annabel Vartanian, Gotham’s April/May It Girls are all, in a way, performers. It’s only fitting, then, that we got a behind-the-scenes peek during the exclusive, high-glam photo shoot of the four women led by Markus Klinko, Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri and GK Reid, the renowned New York City-based photography and styling trio, whose Bravo show, Double Exposure, is set to debut in June. We fully expect a season of big stars (the photogs count Lady Gaga and David Bowie among their clients), larger-than-life personalities and iconic images.

What I love about NY: The infectious energy of the city, the weekend markets and the West Village.

Current projects: My next film, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice with Jerry Bruckheimer, comes out in July. I’m also directing a documentary on the idea of happiness and what it means to people from around the world, and I’ve hired a New York-based writer, Shirin Najafi, to write a screenplay for my production company. I am also about to start acting in a film that shoots in Australia for nine months.

Current projects: I’m producing a Voices of Change party at The Box for the Somaly Mam Foundation, which rescues girls from sexual slavery, and I’m raising awareness with Katie Ford for Free the Slaves, which is dedicated to ending slavery worldwide.

What I love about NY: I truly just love the energy of the city, the array of unique neighborhoods and the fact that there are so many great treasures (especially amazing restaurants!) around every corner. Each is a new jewel to discover.

Current project: It has been an amazing start to 2010. Many projects that I have been working on are coming to fruition. I am concentrating on acting—I’ve been meeting with producers on everything from feature films to commercials.
