1 - Making Moves

Attention Upper West Siders: You no longer have to trek down to Chelsea to get your fill of Malin + Goetz skincare (unless you just want to catch a glimpse of the store mascots, bulldogs Bob and Junior). The brand has expanded to a second NYC location on Amsterdam and West 82nd Street.

Designed by Brooklyn’s Konyk Architecture, the modern space, elements of which are reminiscent of the Chelsea flagship, has retained some of the landmark building’s original features, such as the tin ceiling and brick façade.

Why the Upper West Side? To get back to Andrew Goetz’s roots, says Matthew Malin. “And to be closer to the shrinks, just in case,” he jokes. “We love being the neighborhood’s apothecary.” 455 Amsterdam Ave., 212-799-1200
