You Wear it Well

The city was filled with new and exciting experiences this summer—we kept busy with the much-anticipated opening of the High Line and two new Water Taxi Beaches, as well as a wealth of outdoor cultural activities. Manhattan didn’t disappoint.

Now summer is over and cool fall is fast approaching. We’re looking forward to the months ahead, and who better to grace our September Fall Fashion edition than Sienna Miller? This issue truly has something for everyone, including pages and pages of fall fashions. Gotham editor in chief Cristina Greeven Cuomo and her best-dressed committee present a list of the 100 Best-Dressed New Yorkers, and contributors Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta inspire us to support the charities they’re most passionate about.

Also in these pages we explore the 10024 zip code (such a sweet spot to live in), stir up a few seasonal cocktails and check out the hottest restaurants designed to fulfill all your fondue desires.

As always, we hope this issue captivates you, so enjoy and follow us online at gotham-magazine.com!

REMEMBERING CHEF CHRISTIAN ALBIN
(1947-2009)

Christian Albin was executive chef of The Four Seasons Restaurant for the last 19 years. Everything had to be perfect and his cooks knew he’d be scrutinizing each morsel before it left the kitchen. As commanding and as particular as he was, “Hitsch” (as we called him) was a pussycat. He was the nicest guy I’ve ever met, and treated everyone like gold—especially his staff. He demanded that they do their best, but he was supremely compassionate. Everyone at The Four Seasons will remember him forever with love and gratitude.
