Manhattan Motorcars is the Place to Go
BY ERIK NETCHER
Every New York celebrity knows that for the ultraluxury cars of today there’s only one place to go: Manhattan Motorcars, a massive 120,000-square-foot emporium stocked with models from Bentley, Lamborghini, Lotus, Porsche and Rolls-Royce. However, with a high fleet turnover rate, it doesn’t pay to wait for your fantasy ride.
The smart money right now is on the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Manhattan Motorcars general manager John Kaufman calls the Ghost “one of the hottest cars we have in our inventory right now,” and as one of the largest Rolls-Royce dealers in the US, Kaufman would know. The Ghost lives up to its name, as the V-12 engine is ever so quiet—even when testing its acceleration limits. The specs on the Ghost are what you would expect from a Rolls-Royce (550-plus horsepower, 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds), but the real beauty of the vehicle is its high-end aesthetics. It feels like you’re at a high-class party on wheels every time you step inside. The interior astounds with soft full-grain leather, natural wood veneers, Blenheim wool carpets and cashmere-blend roof lining. Even the rear-hinged coach doors exude grace and elegance. You truly have to experience this car for yourself. Manhattan Motorcars, 270 11th Ave., 212-594-6200; manhattanmotorcars.com
