The fitness world has no shortage of hybrid group classes, many with iffy discipline pairings and an all-to familiar feel. So it’s exciting when one comes along that proves as surprising as it is effective. Zenergy—the first signature class at the Reebok Sports Club/NY and the Sports Club/LA on the Upper East Side—is a highly energizing mashup of yoga and strength training with a focus on recovery. Sequences of traditional yoga poses increase flexibility and interweave with athletic movements like lunges; functional movements and plyometric work build strength and power.
