Sophia Bush hosted the inaugural Pencils of Promise Gala with a sold-out crowd of more than 500 guests, including honoree Justin Bieber, as well as Usher and Adrian Grenier. Founded in 2008 by Adam Braun, Pencils of Promise has built more than 35 schools and broken ground on a total of 58 in Laos, Nicaragua and Gutamala. The first annual gala raised more than $1 million for the cause.
