Whitehall: The Gin Mecca

A gin lover's paradise arrives in the West Village.

July 12, 2012

West Village newcomer Whitehall might as well be called heaven if you're a gin lover. With over 50 types of gin, you could become a real connoisseur. The detailed menu will help you choose your poison, or you can stick to the house cocktails, which include traditional gin-based tipples like the Vesper (Cocchi Americano, Plymouth Gin, vodka, lemon bitters) as well as Whitehall’s signature No. 11 (house infused vanilla bourbon, dandelion and burdock soda, bitters).

For non-gin drinkers, no worries, you'll find other liquors, beer, and wine. Named for the London subway station, Whitehall is committed to serving its libations in the British tradition, and you'll find a full dinner or and brunch menu once you've whet your appetite. At brunch, the soft-boiled egg with toasted soldiers will make you feel like you've been transported directly to London.19 Greenwich Ave., 212-675-7261
