On Thursday night, the Salvatore Ferragamo flagship on Fifth Avenue celebrated its reopening with a "summer holiday" themed party. The evening also marked the launch of Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Collection: Italy, a luxury travel guide that outlines stylish places to stay in Italy.
The brightly lit white-and-wood store was offset by a neon jungle of turquoises, magentas, and purples in leopard and tropical prints from Ferragamo’s spring/summer collection. With travel experts from the Mr & Mrs Smith guides on hand to answer guests' travel questions plus Ferragamo’s unveiling of their Travel Luggage collection, the summer holiday sentiment was certainly felt.
Hosts included Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo, and celebrities like Nina Garcia and Solange Knowles, who acted as DJ, were in attendance. Guests were rounded out by a slew of editors, PR folk, and other New York notables like Frédéric Fekkai and Shirin von Wulffen, as well as James Ferragamo. Small bites were served and guests—many wearing Ferragamo—sipped on Champagne and red wine.
The photographs snapped of said attendees weren’t just for ciruclation on blogs and dailies. Partygoers were instantly emailed pictures, and for every photo shared on Twitter, Facebook, or Flickr through Sunday, April 15, $20 will be donated to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Family Housing Endowment. 655 5th Ave., 212-759-3822
