The LuckyRice Festival Night Market under the Manhattan Bridge

After an immensely popular launch in 2010 that sold out, the LuckyRice Festival is back for round two. The week of Asian culinary festivities starts on May 2 with a kick-off dinner by chef Anita Lo at Annisa ($200) and ends on May 8 with “Talk and Taste” cooking demonstrations ($50) at Astor Center. On May 3 the fashionable folks at Opening Ceremony will host a cocktail hour at the Bowery Hotel ($50–$88) with Asian-inspired drinks mixed by the city’s hottest bartenders. You won’t want to miss Momofuku’s Night Market ($50–$88) on May 4, which is held under the Manhattan Bridge and features neighborhood restaurants from boroughs near and far serving traditional Asian street fare. On May 5 choose between a Macanese dinner at the James Beard House ($135) or an Omakase dinner with Morimoto ($250). The Grand Feast will take place at the Mandarin Oriental on May 6 ($150–$250), with a lineup of master chefs from the city’s more beloved Asian restaurants. And as the week winds down, Daniel Boulud and Susur Lee share a kitchen to host a Chinese banquet dinner ($500) at Daniel. Proceeds from the festival benefit City Harvest.
