Film found its way into Fashion Week last night when Sarah Jessica Parker arrived at The Cinema Society and QVC-hosted premiere of I Don't Know How She Does It. Parker walked the red carpet with husband Matthew Broderick and told us that she hasn’t quite mastered her character’s talent of balancing motherhood, marriage and work. “I keep it together far less well than most women,” said the petite actress. We had to ask: Has there been a time when everything just unraveled? “Everyday,” she quickly replied. “I fall short every day. [But] you’ve still got to get up and start the next day with some promise and a little optimism.”

Parker chatted and posed for pictures with every single fan that approached during the film’s Hudson Hotel afterparty, which was sponsored by Palladium. Across the room, Emmy-nominated Christina Hendricks, who costars in the film, told us her life is also not as together as she’d like. “We just moved into a new house,” the Mad Men actress began. “We’re in that mode where every other day is disaster day. My husband and I can’t find anything—ever. There are those days where you’re like ‘I probably shouldn’t have gotten out of bed today.’ But you’ve got to laugh it off.” Hendricks also said she was sad to miss most of New York Fashion Week. “I wish I could be here longer,” she told us. “I really, really wanted to go to L’Wren Scott and I really, really wanted to go to Zac Posen, but I’m here for such a short amount of time and I have to rush back home to film that little show that we’re doing.”
There were whispers that Bradley Cooper was milling around the bash, but he was actually at the U.S. Open men’s final match watching Novak Djokovic defeat Rafael Nadal. Also spotted in the stands: Justin Timberlake, Ben Stiller with pal Owen Wilson and Jay-Z with pregnant wife Beyoncé.
Over at Butter, where Jersey Shore cast mates Vinny Guadagnino and Deena Cortese were hanging out, the U.S. Open continued to be a hot topic. A rather muscular guy Cortese was talking to brought up the U.S. Open finals and she questioned “What’s Open? Is that a new club?”
Meanwhile, at the Alice + Olivia fashion show, True Blood star Rutina Wesley admitted the show was her first of the week. “I’ve been doing previews for this new play I’m doing, but I wanted to make sure I was here because the girls at Alice + Olivia are always so good to me,” she said. In other news, model Lydia Hearst and Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott have something in common: When we asked what fashion week accessory is a necessity, each separately answered hydration. “I love coconut water, I’m pretty addicted to it,” said Scott. “Stay hydrated and be safe,” Hearst said. “It’s not worth going crazy every day.” We’d say that’s good enough advice to send you out into another night of Fashion Week parties with.
