Free Arts NYC
What: Free Arts NYC’s Kidsfest, hosted by Dior Beauty, celebrates creativity through a day of art, music, games, and fashion to benefit children and communities in need throughout New York City. Nigel Barker, Padma Lakshmi, and Kelly Rutherford, among others will cochair the festivities.
When: Sunday, December 2

Food Allergy Initiative
What: Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Food Allergy Initiative’s Food Allergy Ball honors Heather Bresch and chef Ming Tsai. The annual gala supports the initiative’s public policy, education, and research programs to help uncover the cure and heighten awareness for food allergies. Sharyn Mann and Todd Slotkin serve as chairs for the blacktie evening.

Wall Street Rocks
What: This year’s Battle of the Bands finale show not only supports the Wounded Warrior Project and ReserveAid, but also charities such as The Salvation Army and Project Hospitality, which have been assisting victims of Hurricane Sandy. Supporters will watch The Subscribers and StoneHedge battle and also catch a performance by the Spin Doctors.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
What: Sample plates from the city’s top restaurants, including Rosa Mexicana, as well as cocktails and live music at The Friends of St. Jude’s sixth annual Winter Gala. More than 500 guests are expected to come out in support of the organization that works to end childhood cancer and other serious diseases that affect children.

New York City Ballet
What: A holiday party chaired by Sandra Lee follows a matinee performance of George Balantine’s The Nutcracker at the New York City Ballet’s The Nutcracker Family Benefit to fund dance and scholarship programs including The School of American Ballet’s Scholarship Fund. The fun afternoon includes a special backstage tour, a visit from Santa Claus, and a chance to meet dancers from the performance.

New York City Mission Society
What: The charity organization celebrates its 200th anniversary at this year’s black-tie gala. Bill Ritter leads the evening’s ceremonies, which include an award presentation, dinner, cocktails, dessert, and dancing. Honorary chairs Dina Merrill Hartley and Rev. Dr. Calvin O. Butts III join honoree Cicley Tyson and performer Ray Chew of American Idol fame to toast the bicentennial.
