What: Artrageous Gala & Art Auction sells artwork created through a collaboration of artists and children in foster homes, as well as other art and luxury goods. Funds from the auction benefit the Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families, an organization that aids children in New York’s foster care services, and has received more than $15 million from Artrageous over the past 10 years.

Central Park Conservancy
What: The annual summer fête Taste of Summer brings together New York’s most influential residents for an evening of culinary treasures and endless dancing to support the preservation and maintenance of Central Park. Previous guests have included Chelsea Clinton and Yoko Ono.

Where: Bethesda Terrace, Central Park at 72nd Street
The American Foundation for AIDS Research
What: Honoring Robert Duffy, Marc Jacobs International, and Black Eyed Peas lead singer Fergie, this year’s gala finds its inspiration in the realms of music and fashion. Since the launch of the AmfAR Inspiration events in 2010, the organization has raised more than $3 million for AIDS research.

Where: Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, New York Public Library, 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue
NY Red Cross
What: Last year’s New York Red Cross Ball generated close to $1.4 million for the emergency response organization, and the group hopes to top this number in 2012. The event features special guests Tristan MacManus and Kym Johnson from Dancing with the Stars and honors Ann Kaplan and Simon Ruddick for their tireless support.

Wildlife Conservation Society
What: The Wildlife Conservation Society Gala, this year themed “The Coasts of Patagonia,” celebrates the natural wonder of coastal Chile and Argentina with décor by acclaimed eventeur Preston Bailey. Its honorees, Dr. Steven E. Sanderson and Dr. Juan Carlos Castilla, are both connected to the organization’s successful conservation efforts in the region.

Where: Central Park Zoo, 64th Street and Fifth Avenue
What: Summer in the City, one of New York’s premiere restaurant tasting soirées, features dishes from some of Manhattan’s hottest chefs and most in-demand restaurants. Previously restaurants such as Da Silvano, Beauty & Essex, and Ditch Plains have served bites to benefit the city’s neediest.
